The mystery of red brick
One morning, I walked down to my car from my apartment in Beylerbeyi and discovered that the car has a white plastic cover on its right back top and over the window, and a red brick block on top of the car holding the cover:
What is this, and who did this, and why?
I came home late (just after midnight) and it was not raining. For some reason I left my car’s right back window open — I do things like these pretty often, I guess, mostly because I live and spend time in places where such things do not cause nuisances.
Apparently sometime at night it started raining; one of my neighbors saw the car’s window open, and did not want rain water to get into my car; so he (or she) covered the window with a plastic cover, putting one end of the cover on top of the car, and, in order to hold the cover, neatly placed this red brick on top.
I am thankful to the person who did this; there are only two apartment buildings in my street, each having 6 or 8 units. So, someone from one of these families who live there did this.
I am too absentminded to notice and do such favors to others, but my neighbors are careful, considerate and kind. I sincerely wish that you have neighbors like mine.
